Working Families Tax Credit Age Restriction Name*: Email*: Street Address*: City*: Zip*: Message*: Dear Legislator, I am writing in strong support of HB 1075/SB 5249, to allow young people and working seniors to receive life-saving cash from the Working Families Tax Credit. I believe everyone deserves a yearly boost, whether they are a student working their way through college, or a grandparent putting in long hours to make rent. The WFTC has already put millions of dollars back in the pockets of working people. However, the current age restrictions for workers without kids limits payments to those who are 25-65 years old. From youth working to support their families, to seniors still in the workforce, people with low incomes are all trying to make ends meet. We urge you to allow anyone over the age of 18 to qualify for this life saving cash. More than half of 18-24 year olds across WA cannot meet their basic needs, and the young people who would benefit from this expansion are more likely to be people of color or impacted by the foster system. More seniors are working now than at any time in the last 25 years, and social security is not enough to cover the basics. I know this is just the start of our mission to make sure every Washingtonian can put food on the table, pay for emergencies, and go to sleep with peace of mind. I urge your support for HB 1075/SB 5249! Thank you!
