Tax Credits For Young Workers and Seniors Name*: Email*: Street Address*: City*: Zip*: Message*: Dear House Finance Committee, I am writing in strong support of HB 1214, to allow young people and working seniors to receive life-saving cash from the Working Families Tax Credit. I believe everyone deserves some peace of mind, whether they are a student working their way through college, or a grandparent putting in long hours to make rent. The WFTC has already put millions of dollars back in the pockets of working people. However, an arbitrary age restriction for workers without kids limits credits to people who are 25-65 years old. From youth working to support their families, to seniors still in the workforce, people with low incomes are all trying to make ends meet. We urge you to allow these workers to have access to the same life-saving resources as anyone else. More than half of 18-24 year olds across Washington cannot meet their basic needs, and the young people who would benefit from this expansion are more likely to be people of color or impacted by the foster system. More seniors are working now than at any time in the last 25 years, and social security is not enough to cover the basics. Thank you for making sure every Washingtonian can put food on the table, pay for emergencies, and go to sleep with peace of mind. I urge you to vote HB 1214 forward! Thank you!
